ABOUT ME

Valtina Sylvain

I've known the Lord since I was in elementary school. As a Baptist, I believed in the Holy Trinity but knew precious little about the person of the Holy Spirit. Friendship with Pentecostal and charismatic classmates in high school eventually led to my being baptized in the Holy Spirit and receiving my prayer language. I guess you could call me a charismatic non-denominationalist today.

I have a BA in creative writing. No, I have not published a novel as yet. I have written and directed several plays as the director of my previous church's drama ministry, self-published Star Trek and Doctor Who fanfiction stories on online fanfiction sites, and, before recently retiring, made my living developing training materials.

Why did I start writing a blog? It started as notes written during devotion that I would occasionally share with friends and family. As I continued sharing my devotions with an increasing group of precious people, I began to realize that what I wrote didn't always pertain to me but were words of inspiration for someone else. Whenever doubt set in about my arrogant assumption that God was giving me messages for others, He would have that person thank me for that particular word.

In this way, my Father built up my confidence to start this blog and to appreciate the sweet relationship He has built up between us. He even sent two people at different times to confirm that He had given me the gift of interpreting my prayer language (a longtime request of mine!) which is a large part of my devotion time even as I write and reread the day's featured verses.

I started writing this blog out of obedience to Him because I believe that the Father wants to bless you beyond your wildest dreams!
